Thomas recently took a class on Contemplative Photography with Andy Karr, through the Shambhala Center in Rogers Park (http://chicago.shambhala.org/). This class was the beginning of a journey for Thomas in Miksang training. He wants to go on to finish all of the workshops and classes. He hopes that this training will make him both a more mindful photographer and person.
| “Miksang, at its most basic level, is concerned with uncovering the truth of pure perception. We see something vivid and penetrating, and in that moment we can express our perception without making anything up—nothing added, nothing missing. Totally honest about what we see—straight shooting.”
- The Miksang Institute for Contemplative Photography (http://miksang.com/) |
Thomas also purchased The Practice of Contemplative Photography by Andy Karr and Michael Wood. There are assignments and guidance on how to make this practice stronger.
We look forward to sharing stories and images with all of you as he makes his way through this journey. Here are a few images that Thomas took as part of the workshop. The assignment was Color.
